Made With Love: Boho Betty, a Tale of Brand Identity and Packaging Evolution

Faced with the challenge of standing out in a fiercely competitive market, Boho Betty's founder, Bex Middleton, sought to infuse the brand with a renewed sense of uniqueness and emotion. This case study delves into our meticulous process of redefining Boho Betty's identity and packaging, ultimately elevating the brand's presence and customer experience.


The Challenge

In the fiercely competitive jewellery market, Boho Betty faced the challenge of standing out. The brand was growing however Rebecca, the brand's owner, felt frustrated by her product's presentation—its packaging and brand identity felt unremarkable. She believed that the lacklustre brand experience and packaging were holding her business back and longed for something more impactful. Our mission was clear: to create a beautiful, memorable brand identity and packaging—ones you'd want to gift to yourself and others—all encapsulating the brand ethos of made with love.


The Solution

Collaborating closely with Boho Betty's visionary founder, Bex, Strong & Together embarked on a transformative journey, refreshing both the brand identity and packaging with a deep focus on the brand ethos and customer connection. Boho Betty prides itself on crafting affordable gemstone jewellery, each piece meticulously made with love and care. We listened and we asked the right questions. The result centres on the sentiment of 'made with love,' we neatly combined the brand's double B’s into a sleek, contemporary heart shape. This thoughtful design element resonates deeply with the brand's essence and is clearly expressed. From this our team meticulously crafted brand assets from brand patterns to packaging design, to spotlight the exquisite jewellery, reinforcing the narrative of looking and feeling good. Boho Betty's Vision

Founder Bex articulated a clear vision from the project's inception, emphasising the paramount importance of delivering an elevated and memorable customer experience. Whether clients were purchasing jewellery online or in-store, the brand encounter had to exude uniqueness, confidence, and joy.

During our initial discussions, Bex candidly expressed her dissatisfaction with the current packaging, striving for an experience that evoked excitement and delight among customers. As we delved deeper into Boho Betty's brand values and essence during our kickoff meeting, it became evident that the brand stood for uniqueness, confidence, and joy—a celebration of self-love, compassion, and shared affection.

Thus, our challenge was clear: to craft a brand identity and packaging that not only brought joy but also infused a touch of love into every interaction with Boho Betty's clientele.

The Identity

Preserving Boho Betty's loyal customer base was paramount throughout the redesign process. While the double B's were recognisable, they lacked distinctiveness.

The brand and our ideas needed to be brought to living and breathing life. We centred the sentiment 'made with love' at its core, ingeniously integrating the two B's into a contemporary heart shape. This not only refreshed the logo but also reinforced emotional resonance.

We developed a suite of logos adaptable to various formats, ensuring consistent brand presence across all touchpoints. Moreover, a bespoke small-use logo was crafted for the jewellery itself, ensuring the brand remains prominent whenever worn and every touchpoint had been carefully considered.

Derived from the core logo, a collection of unique brand patterns was curated, imbuing the customer experience with personalised aesthetics crafted directly from the brand identity.

The Packaging

The Boho Betty packaging transformed remarkably, evolving from merely functional to highly desirable. Each jewellery box for bracelets, earrings, and necklaces exudes sophistication, boasting textured and tactile finishes, blind embossed with a bespoke brand pattern and adorned with a luxurious gold foil logo at the centre. Inside, vibrant bursts of colour and brand patterns elevate the unboxing experience. Additionally, our luxuriously navy jewellery bags feature subtle blind embossing of the logo, accented with a touch of colour through the ribbon.

Secondary packaging elements such as gift bags, tissue paper, and stickers are designed to be bold and joyful, employing bright colours and brand patterns for a dramatic impact. Striking the perfect balance, our postal boxes are elegantly simple and of course functional. Featuring a single-colour brand pattern, with vibrant pop of colour and brand messages awaiting inside.

Through this transformation, Boho Betty has not only enhanced the unboxing journey but also strengthened its brand identity, leaving a lasting impression on customers and reinforcing its position as a purveyor of quality and style. Every interaction between the brand and the customer has been the driver of the design decisions made. All of course made with love.

Wholesale appeal

Recognising the paramount importance of both retail and trade customer experiences, we worked closely with Boho Betty to extend the confidence exuded by its brand identity and packaging into its trade show presence.

Collaborating with Bex and the wider team, we curated a dynamic trade show stand design. Utilising existing furniture and incorporating additional elements, we crafted a space where bold brand colours harmonised with elegant jewellery displays and packaging showcases. For their expansion into the US market, we devised a flexible stand design that seamlessly integrates US-available furniture and easily transportable UK elements.

The striking result has significantly elevated Boho Betty's presence at trade shows, translating directly into enhanced sales.
